US adds 6 more Chinese companies to export blacklist for boosting Iran, PLA

Firms acting contrary to American national security in supporting Tehran’s ‘weapons of mass destruction programme’, says Commerce Department

The U.S. has added six Chinese companies to an export blacklist due to their support for Iran’s weapons of mass destruction development and China’s military modernization. The U.S. aims to cut off entities that threaten national security, according to Thea D. Rozman Kendler from the Commerce Department. Companies on the Entity List cannot receive U.S. goods without a special license, which is usually denied.

Among those added, Beijing Moreget Creative Technology was flagged for acquiring aviation-related technology for military use, while Hong Kong’s Small Leopard Electronics faced scrutiny for obstructing investigations and links to an Iranian procurement network. Additional companies were included for procuring U.S. items for Iran’s military programs.

In total, 26 entities were added to the list, including companies from Egypt, Pakistan, and the UAE. Two companies, including China’s Hefei Bitland, were removed after significant changes in practices. Beijing criticized the U.S. for these actions, labeling them discriminatory.
