President Pledges to Reform Laws for Equal Treatment Across Communities

by Namaste Melbourne

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a nation where laws are applied equally to Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslim communities. Addressing an election rally in Trincomalee, the President emphasized the need to build a peaceful country free from division.

“We will establish a legal system that ensures equality for all Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslim citizens. Any laws that obstruct this goal will be reformed to create a nation where every individual can proudly declare, ‘I am Sri Lankan,'” said President Dissanayake.

He highlighted the growing support for the National People’s Power (NPP), particularly in the North, following the presidential election victory. According to the President, only the NPP can form a government trusted and supported by all communities across the country.
