This modal can be closed by pressing the Escape key or activating the close button. ‘Saturday Night Live’ celebrates 49 years with throwback to the original  Saturday Night Live original cast member Dan Aykroyd has endorsed the new film Saturday Night as a true depiction of the events surrounding the iconic show’s first broadcast.
After watching the Jason Reitman-directed film, which premiered on October 11 to honour the 49th anniversary of SNL’s first broadcast, Aykroyd gave rave reviews.

Saturday Night chronicled the behind-the-scenes hustle and chaos that unfolded in the 90 minutes before the inaugural SNL broadcast in 1975.”Cracking a head to applaud Jason Reitman’s triumphant SNL film. Wow! What a propulsive, engaging, funny, beautifully cast and acted, suspenseful, adventurous, music-filled ride,” Aykroyd described.”A perfect window into the creative process at its highest level,” he continued. “Pretty accurate too.
